Database Association with SAP

Database associated with SAP is logically partitioned into 2 sections.

1. Application Repository
2. Data

Application Repository is the portion of the database where all SAP Application Components are maintained.

Application Components includes : Programs, Screens, Functional Modules, Tables e.t.c.

Application Repository is further logically organized into Packages. Packages again categorized into 3 types

1. Standard Packages.
2. Temporary Packages.
3. User defined Packages.

• Standard Packages used to store standard SAP Applications.
• User defined Packages used to store custom developed SAP Application Components.
